Prognosis – June 21st @ LOOP

by J-Slyde

Prognosis June 21st 2014 Eflyer

So not to cause any panic but we’re nearly half way through 2014… scary thought? Meh, no need to fear, after all, time flies when you’re having fun… or cocktails, or late nights, or LOUD NOISES. Luckily that’s where Prognosis steps in and combines all of those awesome things into one crazy shenanigan packed night!!!

After tirelessly trying to lure him to the Prognosis stage for a couple of years now, we have finally found a date that fits in with the schedule of globe trotting (no not the basketball team) dance floor slayer Kasey Taylor. The lad needs no introduction, having created one of Australia’s most highly regarded and longest running labels Vapour, plus a new project Lo-Fi 45 with local legend Lister Cooray. Kasey has been a regular fixture in clubs all over town as late, in amongst his overseas journeys, but his Prognosis slot will be that little extra special as we’ve given him a set where he can unleash whatever tricks he fancies, from old to new.

Matter is our next guest and is a Melbourne lad whose star continues to shine brighter. After a number of successful releases across a range of techno and progressive labels, plus sets that have turned heads of some tough critics, this will be a treat. Moskalin also stops by for his first Prognosis set. Co-founder of the successful Doesn’t Matter events, Moskalin had a solid upbringing on dusty dance floors and has fine-tuned his sound to amass a solid following in clubs around town. Moskalin will be taking the tunage deeeeeep.

With residents DJs J-Slyde, Simon Murphy and Aaron Static, along with visual ninja vdmo Kstati projecting onto Loop’s two 30ft screens for the duration. FREE ENTRY.

J-Slyde & Simon Murphy to mix For The Record’s first compilation!

by J-Slyde

ftr-logoJ-Slyde and Simon Murphy have been commissioned to mix For The Record’s first mix compilation! Long-time friends both on the dance-floor and off, FTR have been involved with us for quite some time – whether it be through their unwavering support of our events through to the inclusion of their music in our DJ’s sets, they’ve help play a large part in helping make us what we are today. Closely following their label since its inception several years ago, Simon and Jordz have been keen supporters of the music that they’ve been pushing – with quite a number of their releases finding a home in their respective CD wallets. Needless to say both the boys were overjoyed when they were invited to be apart of the project. Jumping at the opportunity and wasting no time both have been hard at work sifting through FTR’s comprehensive back-catalog and compiling a short list of music and amassing ideas.

Always keen to support new talent, FTR and the boys are now taking submissions of new music for possible inclusion on the compilation. Whether you’re an unsigned bedroom banger, or an already established artist, we’d very much like to hear from you! Both Simon and Jordz are super keen to include a vast array of different music on the mix and are hoping to showcase as much local talent as possible in the process.

So if you think you have what it takes, head on over to FTR’s website to submit a demo! Submissions close June 1st, so ensure you get your ass into gear ASAP! We’ve heard from a good source that the early workings of the compilation are already underway, so don’t sleep!
