The Prognosis crew is back in April to once again turn Loop on its head with a shenanigan packed night loaded with audio and visual treats.

Brisbane’s own Verve will be making the trip down to unleash some of his emotive, melodic, groovy progressive. Taking the world by storm with his productions and his DJ sets, Verve has been hand picked to share his take on the sound that the Prognosis massive love. An honor to have such a talented young artist join the Prognosis ranks, this will be special.

Melbourne’s own Trent McDermott will be making his Prognosis debut in a set that will no doubt confirm why he is so highly regarded both in Australia and across the globe. Trent’s eclectic music taste has seen his career last over a decade and his dedication to the scene is clear to see. This set will see Trent delve into an enormous collection of tunes and wind the BPM’s back and deliver some gems that he has been hanging to play.

Rounding out this epic lineup, regulars Herc Kass and Alex David will be digging deep to show why they continue to turn heads with their take on all things techno, house and progressive. Residents J-Slyde and Aaron Static will hold down the fort with their blends of musical madness and Vdmo Kstati will provide the visual delights in what is set to be another HUGE night.

Sooo it seems like the merry men down at Prognosis missed the memo about the silly season ending and have nabbed another scorching lineup to fill your February with party time frivolity.

What better place to start than the ridiculously talented, Brisbane based, progressive poster-child Rich Curtis. With tunes on some of the best labels in the business being supported by the likes of umm… EVERYONE and a DJing resume that reads like a who’s who of progressive house, this is definitely a set you ain’t gonna wanna miss.

Joining him are none other than Herc Kass and Chris Meehan who return to dish up another dose of their collective progressive weaponry. Mish’Chief who was a late scratching on her last booking is pumped to be taking the reigns at Prognosis and will be working her enchanting musical magic. Marcus Holder will also be making his Prognosis debut with some deep delicacies to get things moving.

Add the ever reliable residents, crazy visuals, cocktails, dance-floor shenanigans and you’ve got all the makings for yet another memorable night @ Loop. And it’s FREEEEE!

NO FIXED SHAPE – Dec 21st @ LOOP

December 21st, 2012 – a date that according to the Mayans marks the end of the world. Also on that date and clearly just as pivotal, is the second edition of No Fixed Shape. Hoping that the end of the world will hold out until they can finish up at Loop, the Inner City Rolling Committee gear up for an event of biblical proportions.

Keen on out-doing their debut event, which by all accounts was a success with the bar smashed and a sturdy contingent of one-eyed DnB aficionados dancing till well after stumps, the NFS krew knew that something really special had to be pulled out of their bass-hat. Not a rabbit, but clearly a lot more entertaining, Johnny Hooves and Kodiak Kid headline this round of festivities.

Johnny Hooves is the quadruple threat – drummer, beat architect, DJ and live sound-engineer. A household DnB name not only known locally, but also internationally, he currently serves as drummer to the iconic New Zealand live act Shapeshifter. But when Hooves isn’t slamming out hard hitting live breakbeats to crowds across the planet, he can be found in the studio, or on the turntables, contributing his own “vibe” driven take on drum and bass and lower tempo beat music to the global musical discussion. And again, if isn’t in the lab, or in the mix, chances are he’s behind the live mixing desk acting as the front of house engineer to the likes of the legendary Tiki Taane or The Upbeats Live.

Rounding out the headlining spotlight we also welcome local young gun, and all round beat-wizard, Kodiak Kid. A slave to all that is “beat” driven, Kodiak Kid’s style holds no bounds – touching on everything from Glitch-hop, Midtempo, PsyDub, Dubstep, Downtempo, World Beats, Roots/Reggae and of course DnB, his sets are renowned for taking the crowd on a powerful journey. Safe to say once The Kid steps up, that we’ll be in for one genre pushing set.

On support duties we welcome local bass-stalwart, TEECEE – frontman of Dubbish online radio show on Budgie Collective. TEECEE has been pushing his unique blend of deep bass beats to a fantastic response, with his weekly online radio show holding the largest listener base on budgiecollective.com. TEECEE’s ear for detail shines through in every show and DJ set he plays, and we couldn’t think of a better artist to join the ranks.

NFS residents FLIP3K, J-Slyde and James Brooke will also be around to fill in the gaps offering up deep liquid DnB like only they know how. Visual duties will be handled once again by the insanely talented Manoeuvre.tv – fresh off the Stereosonic tour, it’s safe to say he’ll be bringing his A-Game.

PROGNOSIS – Dec 15th @ LOOP

As the weather heats up and the silly season kicks into gear, Melbourne is alive with quite literally, the sound of music. Stepping in line the only way they know how the Prognosis krew gears up for an edition of truly epic proportions. December in Melbourne means two things – hot weather and even hotter parties, and come Dec 15th the latter is set to be well and truly covered! – We’d comment on the former, but knowing Melbourne weather, anything is possible. Anyway, intent on making this edition of Prognosis as hot as possible, two of Melbourne’s finest have been hand picked to headline the festivities; Sean Quinn and Steve Ward.

Having been involved with the Melbourne music scene for well over a decade in every way shape and form possible; from DJing at every worthwhile club, festival and event possible throughout Australia and Europe, to hosting one of the most successful shows on local radio station KISS FM, through to producing some of the biggest dance tracks to come out of Melbourne, if not Australia – Sean Quinn is a legend amongst the Melbourne EDM scene. A born performer, his DJ set’s are carefully crafted masterpieces executed to perfect brilliance. Those who have not experienced one for themselves, have no doubt heard others speak in revered tones of their awesomeness. To say we’re honored to have him grace the stage at Prognosis would be a heavy understatement.

Ramping things up, the enigma that is Steve Ward also gets set to share the headlining spotlight. Frontman of local record label Chameleon Recordings, Steve has been at the forefront of Australia’s new revolution of underground dance music for well over a decade. A globally recognised techno and house artist who has collaborated with a bevvy of A-list artists such as: Carl Cox, Dj Pierre, Tim Taylor, Technasia, Psycatron, Peter Horrevorts & Jamie Stevens, Steve has performed at some of the most forward thinking dance events throughout the southern hemisphere of up to crowds of 20,000. A performer at heart, Steve is as at home behind the decks as he is his keyboard, a quality that shines through with every live performance. Needless to say, we’re set for one electrifying display when Mr Ward takes the stage.

On support duties we welcome Mr Alex David, the Techno incarnation of our beloved Alex Butler, along with our Prognosis trio – J-Slyde, Aaron Static and Simon Murphy. Visual duties will be handled by the extremely versatile VJ PiedPiper, whom will be dishing up delectable next-level imagery onto Loop’s two massive 30ft screens.
