PROGNOSIS 5th BDAY ft GMJ – Feb 20th @ LOOP

by J-Slyde

Prognosis 5th Bday Set Times

Prognosis 5th Bday - Feb 20th @ Loop

We’ve been in this game for 5 years dropping prog tunes…
Ever since Loop was using one-thousoons…
Now it’s ‘twenty sixteen and they rocking 2ks…
Screens shining, looking like a robbed computer game…
It’s all good, from Meyers Lane to the Bay…
Melbourne is the bomb if the crowd is rockin away…
Throw up a finger if you feel the same way…
Murphy, J, Static & Grig putting it down for Prognos-i-aye!

Don’t mind us getting all gangster but we’re pretty fkn excited about turning 5. And as if your jiblets weren’t tickled enough, not only will Feb 20th signal our debaucherous birthday celebrations but it’s also the same evening as White Night! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeboi!

Still not excited? Let us drop some knowledge. For this edition we knew we needed to bring the heat so we’ve invited local prog-maestro, GMJ aka Gavin Martin, to headline festivities, signifying his first club gig in over three years! After absolutely decimating the Market Stage at Rainbow Serpent we were all in agreeance that Gav couldn’t be a better choice to headline such a momentous occasion, and with a career spanning near on two decades, having played all over the world and supporting some of the biggest names in the underground music scene, we’re sure you’ll agree that it was a wise decision.

The rest of our guests were also selected with the same gangstah-vibe in mind with long-time supporters Dave Juric, Louay, Alex David and Moskalin coming along for the ride whilst Doesn’t Matter stalwart, Cookie, keeps things fresh with his debut under the ‘Nosis flag.

Need more FIRE? Aight, how’s this sound… the myth, the man, the legend that is Azz Dawg, aka Aaron Static, is gon’ b step step stepping up from his usual opening slot-time to deliver a later set of peak-time tuna. With the man soon to be pissing-off overseas to pursue career prospects this will sadly be one of the last sets he plays for us.

So you remember how we said it was White Night? Well our world-renowned resident VJ, vdmo Kstati, will be projecting his mind-bending visual delights over Loop’s two 30ft screens for the duration. Lastly, our fooly-sick head-G’s J-Slyde and Simon Murphy, fresh from slaying crowds at Rainbow Serpent, will round out what is set to be one for the record books.

We really hope you can make it!

Prognosis Aug 2015 Set Times

Prognosis - Aug 15th, 2015 Eflyer

It’s almost that time again. After a scorcher last month with Phil K laying down a hypnotising, funked up monster of a set, we are set for another large one with Jesse Kuch flying down from Brisbane.

Founder of Open Records and DJ extraordinaire, Jesse’s approach to his music and undeniable talent has seen him grow a fan base all around Australia. Coupled with his undying support of the Australian scene and its talent, Jesse is a like-minded soul who will fit right in amongst the Prognosis crew.

Whilst we never need an excuse to celebrate down at Prognosis, this one will be extra special as it’s Dave Juric’s birthday and he will be down to turn Loop on its head once again. An amazing DJ with exceptional taste and his own trademark flair, Dave is part of the family and we can’t wait to celebrate with him. For The Record chief and Prognosis regular Louay will also be joining us with a bunch of new productions from his own studio and the FTR stable. Louay’s label is going from strength to strength and his sets have been turning heads so this should be a blinder!

Residents J-Slyde and Simon Murphy are on support with visual wizardry provided by vdmo Kstati. Entry is free, the drinks are delicious and the dance floor is calling. See you there!

PROGNOSIS – White Night Special – February 21st @ LOOP

by J-Slyde

Prognosis-February-2015-Set-times

Prognosis February 2015 Eflyer

February 21st usher’s in our first Prognosis for 2015, and whilst that’s a pretty monumental occasion in itself it also happens to be the date of Melbourne’s White Night spectacular. One might say the pairing of the two is fate, others might say it’s due to Loop’s programming – whatever the case may be, we’re getting ready to put on one hellova’ party! Starting the evening a whole 2 hours early at 8pm, we’re doing all we can to ensure that Loop will be a safe haven for all of you prog and tech heads. It won’t matter if you’re already planning to head to White Night, or just keen on some quality beats; we’ll be at it from the get-go and we’ll be going all bloody night!

We knew we had to pull together something pretty special for this kind of occasion, so for headlining duties we welcome back none other than prog-kingpins Luke Porter and Soulfire – previously both UK based, the boys now call Melbourne home – which is kind of lucky for us because it means we get to see them a whole heap more!

Luke is widely renowned for his amazing skills behind the decks, playing some of the biggest clubs and festivals in the world. Accompanied by a slew of releases on some of the most highly regarded labels across the globe such as microCastle, Sudbeat and Lowbit – to name but a few.

Soulfire has been on the production front since early 2003, and with runaway success the man shortly thereafter launched his own label, Soulfire Downloads. Since it’s inception the label has boasted hard-hitting releases and remixes from the scenes most talented artists.

Support comes in the form of three hugely talented and indemand local artists that we’ve been trying to lock down for yonks! FLIP3K, Damir Smith and Jade May. Each bringing their unique styles to the decks, we will no doubt be in for a treat. Rounding things off in the residential area are J-Slyde and Aaron Static, with screen handling of Loop’s two 30ft screens by our resident visual mestro, vdmo Kstati.
