PROGNOSIS – Aug 23rd @ LOOP

by J-Slyde

Prognosis August 2014 EFlyer

This August the gang down at Prognosis have decided to throw the hootenanny of all hootenannies. A grand spectacle no doubt and one for the record books with special guest Dylan Griffin headlining the occasion and making his Prognosis debut. The brains behind the successful AU Underground podcast series, key contributor at Subsonic plus a tour schedule that has seen him traveling around Australia and beyond, Dylan has been stamping his mark with his musical talents for nearly a decade. Even if he is originally from Sydney, you’ll be glad he made the move down to Melbourne when you sample his sonic offerings.

To accompany our headliner and to ensure the madness reigns supreme, the lads have invited some of their favourite regulars to play versus sets with the unruly residents. Already knowing each others musical tastes inside out, these versus sets are going to be a melting pot of ideas, inspirations and let’s face it, idiocy in unhealthy doses.

Mish’Chief, Melbourne’s first lady of staunch techno is first up as she graces the Loop stage to pick up where she left off (loud and in charge). Prognosis favourite, progressive kingpin Herc Kass will also be down with a whole new bag of tricks as his label FutureForm Music moves ahead in leaps and bounds. Darkbeat’s Dave Juric stops by on the back of support slots for some really famous blokes, flying the flag for the progressive resurgence the scene is seeing. The tallest man in showbiz, ridiculously talented production powerhouse Kultrun returns for a long overdue set and will prove once and for all that he isn’t a first class jerk. Rounding out the guest list is Alex David who has been keeping himself busy in the studio since his last slot, tweaking his sound and amassing a new legion of fans from his recent mixes.

The residents J-Slyde, Aaron Static and Simon Murphy have each picked a suitable target with whom they will be laying down tunes and are excited to mix things up from the regular formula to see what magic comes of it. Visual input will once again be provided by vdmo Kstati whose artistic genius rounds out the package perfectly.

Strap on your snow chains cos it’s gonna get slippery!!!

PROGNOSIS – Oct 19th @ LOOP

by J-Slyde

Prognosis Oct 19th @ LOOP

Spring has most definitely sprung with glorious sunshine drenching the party faithfuls’ moon tans whilst simultaneously tempting those in hibernation from their wintery slumber towards the beckoning dance floor. Translation: it’s PARTY TIME!

October’s Prognosis takes off right where we left off with another dose of audio visual debauchery at the hands of some of Australia’s best talent. And who better to start with than one of Australia’s most prolific producers, DJs and all round party gurus, Jamie Stevens. With an exhausting gig and release schedule, including a HUGE new collab on Bedrock, expect another inspiring insight into the mind of one of our biggest musical exports.

The long awaited return of Prognosis’ partner in crime Simon Murphy is next on the agenda as he debuts his exciting new collaborative project, Murphy’s Fabel. Teaming up with dancefloor temptress Fabel, a classically trained musician and talented DJ (who laid down an epic closing set at Prognosis last year), the pair have hit the studio this year with a number of works in the pipeline. This DJ set will fuse the finely tuned tastes of these audiophiles into something special.

Gabriel Gilmour once again takes the stage to show the Prognosis massive why his musical stylings are in such high demand. The Canberra bred artist who now calls Melbourne home was a breath of fresh air on his Prognosis debut and we’re hanging for another dose. Next up, Alex David, a regular at Prognosis and around town, is on board to lay down his take on techno (and dancefloor) shenanigans. Substance founding father Taran M also drops by with a bag of deep progressive goodies that he has been saving for such a momentous occasion.

Rounding out the lineup, Prognosis residents J-Slyde and Aaron Static will be doing what they do best, drinking heavily, dancing inappropriately and laying down some of the finest tunes to grace your ears this millennium. Finally, no Prognosis night would be complete without the visual wizardry of the ridiculously talented Vdmo Kstati who mesmerises all who enter the vortex that is Loop Bar.

Remember: As usual, all of these tantalising treats are served to you FREE of charge. Wear comfy shoes cos you will be boogying until well after you’d promised yourself you’d be in bed. Arrive early cos waiting in line is bad for your soul.

Prognosis - April 20th EFlyer

The Prognosis crew is back in April to once again turn Loop on its head with a shenanigan packed night loaded with audio and visual treats.

Brisbane’s own Verve will be making the trip down to unleash some of his emotive, melodic, groovy progressive. Taking the world by storm with his productions and his DJ sets, Verve has been hand picked to share his take on the sound that the Prognosis massive love. An honor to have such a talented young artist join the Prognosis ranks, this will be special.

Melbourne’s own Trent McDermott will be making his Prognosis debut in a set that will no doubt confirm why he is so highly regarded both in Australia and across the globe. Trent’s eclectic music taste has seen his career last over a decade and his dedication to the scene is clear to see. This set will see Trent delve into an enormous collection of tunes and wind the BPM’s back and deliver some gems that he has been hanging to play.

Rounding out this epic lineup, regulars Herc Kass and Alex David will be digging deep to show why they continue to turn heads with their take on all things techno, house and progressive. Residents J-Slyde and Aaron Static will hold down the fort with their blends of musical madness and Vdmo Kstati will provide the visual delights in what is set to be another HUGE night.

PROGNOSIS – Dec 15th @ LOOP

by J-Slyde

Prognosis December Eflyer

As the weather heats up and the silly season kicks into gear, Melbourne is alive with quite literally, the sound of music. Stepping in line the only way they know how the Prognosis krew gears up for an edition of truly epic proportions. December in Melbourne means two things – hot weather and even hotter parties, and come Dec 15th the latter is set to be well and truly covered! – We’d comment on the former, but knowing Melbourne weather, anything is possible. Anyway, intent on making this edition of Prognosis as hot as possible, two of Melbourne’s finest have been hand picked to headline the festivities; Sean Quinn and Steve Ward.

Having been involved with the Melbourne music scene for well over a decade in every way shape and form possible; from DJing at every worthwhile club, festival and event possible throughout Australia and Europe, to hosting one of the most successful shows on local radio station KISS FM, through to producing some of the biggest dance tracks to come out of Melbourne, if not Australia – Sean Quinn is a legend amongst the Melbourne EDM scene. A born performer, his DJ set’s are carefully crafted masterpieces executed to perfect brilliance. Those who have not experienced one for themselves, have no doubt heard others speak in revered tones of their awesomeness. To say we’re honored to have him grace the stage at Prognosis would be a heavy understatement.

Ramping things up, the enigma that is Steve Ward also gets set to share the headlining spotlight. Frontman of local record label Chameleon Recordings, Steve has been at the forefront of Australia’s new revolution of underground dance music for well over a decade. A globally recognised techno and house artist who has collaborated with a bevvy of A-list artists such as: Carl Cox, Dj Pierre, Tim Taylor, Technasia, Psycatron, Peter Horrevorts & Jamie Stevens, Steve has performed at some of the most forward thinking dance events throughout the southern hemisphere of up to crowds of 20,000. A performer at heart, Steve is as at home behind the decks as he is his keyboard, a quality that shines through with every live performance. Needless to say, we’re set for one electrifying display when Mr Ward takes the stage.

On support duties we welcome Mr Alex David, the Techno incarnation of our beloved Alex Butler, along with our Prognosis trio – J-Slyde, Aaron Static and Simon Murphy. Visual duties will be handled by the extremely versatile VJ PiedPiper, whom will be dishing up delectable next-level imagery onto Loop’s two massive 30ft screens.
